The rarity of this card is actually like no other. It was apparently a place-holder on the foil sheet for the Soul Society expansion (judging by the layout). A small number of copies were included in boosters, filling the foil card slot when it got there. I am told that Score would trade this card, if you sent it in, for a UR. At best, it's as rare as any individual foil card (and it's easy to prove that any individual foil card is significantly less commonly distributed than the URs were - URs were one per 48 packs, or both of them in 96 packs, where a random foil is found in one of 3 packs, meaning one would have to open 324 to find 108 of them, on average). With an unknown number having been returned to Score, this may well be the scarcest card in the set: it's pretty clearly the scarcest one that got general distribution. |
